Snow Geese fly over Riefel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, British Columbia atdusk. Every autumn some 100,000 geese migrate 5,000-km back to Canada and asfar south as California, from their summer home on Russia's Wrangel Islandin Siberia. The geese will fly the distance in stages with their first stopon St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea. From there they fly to the YukonDelta in Alaska where they will remain for several weeks feeding beforecontinuing onto the south coast of British Columbia. Photo taken November15, 2001.
